About Natalie

Founder • Teacher • Pilates Movement Specialist

At the heart of HIX Pilates & Wellness is me, Natalie. I am an experienced and highly trained Pilates teacher with over 16 years of teaching experience and more than 20 years immersed in movement, fitness, and wellbeing. I am passionate about helping people move with strength, confidence, and clarity, whatever their starting point.

​

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sport & Exercise Science, a PGCE in Education, and a 500-hour Classical Pilates Comprehensive Certification, completed under the guidance of Alison Salmond, an Instructor Trainer with STOTT® Pilates and classically certified by the New York Pilates Studio®. This combination of academic training and classical education allows me to blend scientific understanding with thoughtful, effective teaching.

​

Alongside my core qualifications, I hold specialist Pilates certifications that enable me to work safely and confidently with clients requiring a more tailored or rehabilitative approach. This includes working with injury rehabilitation and back care, pregnancy and postnatal recovery, breast cancer rehabilitation, neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis and stroke rehabilitation, and athletic conditioning and performance enhancement.

​

I continue to develop my practice through ongoing professional training with leading Classical Pilates educators worldwide. I believe Pilates is a lifelong discipline, and my teaching evolves as my knowledge deepens and as each client’s needs change.

​

Pilates works best when it is personal. Every body is unique, and my approach begins with understanding how you move, including your posture, habits, goals, and challenges. Sessions are carefully tailored to support injury recovery and back care, pregnancy and postnatal recovery, medical and neurological conditions, athletic conditioning, or simply learning to move better and feel stronger.

​

I teach using Classical Pilates methodology and the full system as Joseph Pilates intended, building long-term strength, resilience, and body awareness. I have worked with clients across the UK and the Netherlands, from complete beginners to professional athletes, and I bring the same level of care, precision, and encouragement to every session.

​

Whatever your starting point, my mission is to help you reach your fullest potential through the transformative power of Pilates. My goal is simple, to help you move well, feel well, and live well, with a body that supports you both in the studio and beyond.
